Because he missed her sweet smile, Chester "Woody" Woodall Jr. left us on April 1, 2017, to join his wife, Donna. He was born in Zillah on February 7, 1926, to Chester Sr. and Hazel (Hill) Woodall. He attended Zillah schools graduating from Zillah High School in 1944. It was in school that he met Donna Parrish. They married on November 26, 1947, and lived in Zillah their entire 67 years together.
He farmed with his father until he became a field man for Stokely Van Camp in Zillah. He later became a field man for Twin City Foods, Inc. in Ellensburg and retired from there as a Field Representative.
Chester was an avid hunter and fisherman. Instead of bringing home the bacon he brought home the venison, elk, trout, sturgeon, etc. But as much as he tried, he never was able to make us enjoy the duck.
Every summer since his childhood he went to Long Beach, Washington. He took kids, grandkids and even some of his great-grandkids and taught them to enjoy surf fishing and clam digging.
Woody was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jerald, and his beloved wife, Donna. He is survived by his children, Cathy (Lynn) Woodyard; Debra (Dave) Delp; Jeff (Tresa) Woodall; and Marla Pascal all residing in Zillah. He often said that he could look out, see his children's houses, and feel happy. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Ryan (Hilary) Woodyard; Erick (Amy) Delp; Amanda Delp; Dustin (Jamie) Woodall; Sara (Evan) Sainsbury; Andrea Craft; Monica Young and Derrell (Addie) Pascal and 14 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 8, at 11:00 AM at Zillah Cemetery.
