Cherrie Hurd

December 10, 1965 — March 12, 2019

Cherrie L. Hurd, 53, of Wapato, Washington, gained her wings and joined the Lord on March 12, 2019. Cherrie was born December 10, 1965 in Brewster, Washington. She later moved to Wapato, where she attended school and lived out the remainder of her life. Cherrie loved family and friends, animals, and adventure. She especially loved spending time at the beach, riding in her side-by-side, boating, the great outdoors, and gardening. Cherrie treasured getting together with family and friends. Being with the ones she loved was most important to her. She was a “social butterfly” and never passed up an opportunity to go on an adventure. She was a supporter of animal rescue. She never met an animal that she didn’t love (or bring home). Closest to her heart after her family, were her dogs Cinnamon and Blue, her many cats, and her beloved turtles. Cherrie had the ability to light up a room with her infectious smile and beautiful heart. She loved unconditionally and forgave easily. She was cherished by everyone who knew her, and she will remain in our hearts and memories interminably. Cherrie is preceded in Heaven by her grandparents, Bernard and Margaret Henderson, and Laverne and Kenneth Hurd, her parents Jim and Barbara Hurd, and her niece Hannah Cordova. Cherrie is survived by her partner Darin Olson, her son Elijah Olson, her chosen parents Robert and Jean Ames, sister Cindie and husband Rick Ames, nieces Nichole and Kacey Ames, sister Carrie and husband Tim Cordova, niece Corin Cordova, nephews Timmy, Zeek, and Isaac Cordova, and Ray and Josiah Hernandez, sister Brandi Hurd and Robert Buster, and very special friend Katie Herrmann and family, as well as countless other friends and relatives. Services will be held Monday, March 18 at 10:00 am, at Harrah Assembly of God. 3681 Harrah Rd, Harrah, WA. There will be a reception to follow the service. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cottage in the Meadow Hospice Care, as they took such good care of our dear Cherrie in her last days.
