SPOKANE, Washington - Charles Edward Pimms, Sr. at 81 years of age, entered eternal rest on July 20, 2017 in Spokane Washington.
He was born in White Swan, Washington, to Raymond W. Pimms Sr. and Alameda Wheeler Pimms on January 16, 1936. He was a Yakama Nation tribal member.
He attended several higher education courses and trainings. He worked in several different positions for numerous companies. His primary position was a Consulting Construction Manager. Charles was a valued member of the administration at Fort Simcoe Job Corps Center, at the initial setup. He was also an employee of the Yakama Indian Agency and Bureau of Indian affairs.
Charles served in the Marine Corps for three years, from September 1954 to September 1957. He was honorably discharged, as a Corporal. He was a member of The Yakama Nation Warriors.
Charles was an exceptional artist who loved to paint and draw. In 1965 Charles was the original designer and artist for the arrowhead emblem that now appears on all Yakama Nation Letterhead and all official documents. He was an avid golfer, and some of his favorite things during his lifetime were boxing, bowling, billiards, softball, and baseball. He was athletic, and enjoyed swimming, fishing, and hunting.
He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond W. Pimms, Sr. and Alameda Wheeler Pimms; siblings Raymond Pimms, Jr., Florance Pimms Haggerty, Oliver B. Pimms, Sr., Reta Pimms Stevens; and children David P. Pimms, and Lisa R. Pimms.
He is survived by his wife, Laurie A. Pimms; his children Charles E. Pimms, Jr. (Nina), Jody Fiander (L.J.), Anthony E. Pimms (Heather), LeAnn Pimms, Shawn Pimms; his siblings Delores Pimms Moore, George Pimms, Sr. (Esther), Anita Pimms Swan (N. Thomas); his grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
