Charles Lloyd King, age 77, of Western Washington, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025.
Born on July 12, 1948, Charles—known to family and friends as Chuck—dedicated much of his life to the residential construction industry, where he built not only homes but lasting relationships and a reputation for hard work and craftsmanship. A true carpenter at heart, Chuck had a lifelong passion for building things.
Chuck found joy in helping others—sharing his skills and offering guidance, especially to those in the construction industry. He was a teacher to many.
Faith was the cornerstone of Chuck’s life. He lived with generosity and a quiet strength that reflected his Christian values. His unwavering belief in God’s grace guided his decisions and shaped his character.
Chuck enjoyed the simple joys of life—nature, animals, fishing, camping, and outdoor adventure sports. He loved country music and was always ready to tell you a story—often filled with humor, wisdom, or a cherished memory. He spent the last two years of his life on a ranch, a place that reminded him of his grandparents’ ranch—one of his favorite places as a child—where he felt a sense of peace and connection to his roots.
Chuck was lucky to share the last several years of his life with his partner, Cristi Viles, whom he loved dearly.
He is survived by his children, Brian King, Marlin King, Malia Sperling, and Sean King, and by four grandchildren who brought him great joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will be notified of a service to honor Chuck’s life.
He will be remembered for the foundation he built — both in the homes he crafted and in the hearts of those who loved him.
