Chandra Roxanne Saiz, age 47, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, in Tacoma, surrounded by family and friends whom she loved beyond measure. She was born in Toppenish on January 24, 1978, to her parents Carolyn Anderson and Chuck Saiz Sr., alongside her twin sister Chana, with whom she shared a lifelong, unbreakable bond.
Chandra is survived by her mom, Chana (Gus), her brother Jay (Felisha), and their children Jando, Alyssa, Ulysses, Sofia and Max who she loved as if they were her own, as well as her beloved dog Domino. When Chandra and Chana were seven, Dorothy and Marvin McDonald opened their home and hearts to them and Jay as foster parents. In God’s wisdom, He knew how much love Chandra would one day pour into the world—so He blessed her with two families to both receive and expand that love with additional brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Across forty-seven years, more than 100 children came to know her as Auntie or Tía Chandra, and countless others knew her as cousin, friend, and a beacon of joy. She dedicated her life to caring for children, always choosing work that allowed her to give, guide, nurture, and love without limits. Her compassion was endless; her kindness, effortless.
Chandra was the kindest soul many of us will ever know. She remembered every birthday, every anniversary, and every milestone—not just for immediate family, but for friends and extended relatives as well. Even while fighting cancer this past year, she continued to uplift others with her smile and encouragement.
In her final days, nearly 50 family members and friends changed or canceled Thanksgiving plans and traveled hours to be by her bedside, a testament to the love she sowed so naturally. She spent her life giving love, and in her final moments, we tried to return just a fraction of the love she poured into all of us.
Chandra exemplified 1 Corinthians 13:6–7—love that protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres.
Her life was love.
Her legacy is kindness.
Her memory will forever be a blessing.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 5, from 11:00am-3:00pm., at 181 Lateral A Rd, Wapato, WA. The service will be potluck style.
