Cecil Walter Corbin passed away peacefully on October 23rd, 2015 at Cottage in the Meadow surrounded by family members. He was born on March 20, 1933 in Sterling, Colorado to LaVeral M. Lochard & Cecil J. Corbin and lived his life in Yakima, Washington. Cecil was a passionate man, enjoyed a successful career in Commercial & Residential construction. As owner of a construction company for over 40 years, built many Custom Homes in and around the Yakima Valley. After retirement he provided volunteer work for many, including construction of the Science Building at LaSalle High School in Union Gap. In his early years, Cecil spent time as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne, Fort Bragg, NC. He was a loving Husband married to his wife and soul mate, Marlene R. Corbin for over 60 years, Father of 5, Grandfather of 14, and Great Grandfather of 2. Cecil, a great athlete, was an avid soccer player, played till the age of 62 after an injury sidelined him. He coached soccer and basketball during his life, but the most enjoyment came watching his children, and grandchildren playing sports from the sidelines. He had a passion for fishing, and many times family vacations became fishing trips. Many of his favorite locations included trips to Priest Lake, Lake Roosevelt and Rimrock Lake. He was a very competitive man, enjoyed a game of cards with family, and a weekly game with his buddies. His devotion to the church included his involvement in the church choir at Holy Family. He is survived by Sons Jeff, Chris & Wife Cami Leonard-Corbin, Daughters Dorothy & Lou Barnum, Joan & Andy Apodaca, Anne & Bruce Newell. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Clifford, Lita, Clinton and Twila. A Vigil will be held Monday, October 26, at 6:30PM at Holy Family Chapel. Mass Of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 27th at Holy Family Church at 10:30AM, followed by a reception, and then burial will be at Calvary Cemtery.
