Carla Smith

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend went to meet her Maker on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Cottage In the Meadow (hospice care center) in Yakima, from complications from end stage COPD. She was born on June 2, 1945 in Prosser, WA to parents, George and Edna Hill. Carla married Norman Dale Smith Sr. on September 16, 1966. Together they bought their home in Gleed where they raised their four children and still reside. Carla was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family as well as fishing with her companion, and she also loved her dog, Patches. Later in life she was employed at Columbia Reach until her retirement. Together they enjoyed going out to eat and to the casinos. She is survived by her husband, Norman Dale Smith Sr., of Gleed, and daughters, Cathy (Josh) Grundy, of Kennewick, Tina (Erle) Vandegraft, of Leavenworth, Maggy (Mark) Brown, of Gleed, several nieces, nephews, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Norman Dale Smith Jr. on May 1, 2014. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 25 at 2pm at 40 Larson Rd. in Yakima.
