Carl Spiegelberg died November 10, 2015 in Yakima, Washington. Carl was born May 4, 1929 in Longview, Washington to Harvey J. Spiegelberg and Jessie L. (Carl) Spiegelberg. Carl was raised in Bremerton, Washington and graduated from Bremerton High School. At age 16, he moved to Seattle, Washington to attend the University of Washington. He graduated with a degree in aeronautical engineering from UW in 1954 followed by Masters degree in aeronautical engineering from Stanford University in 1960. In 1974 he received his MBA from Seattle University. Carl worked for the Boeing Company for 35 years. He also worked for Northrop Aircraft and Hiller Helicopters. In 1991 Carl retired from the Boeing company and moved to Yakima.
Carl is survived by his faithful wife of 63 years, JoAnn and their four children, Marc (Sandy) Spiegelberg, Craig (Jeanne) Spiegelberg, Carol (Ken) Wagar and Lisa (Stuart) O’Brochta. He is also survived by his brother Doug Spiegelberg, sister Joan (Bob) Maggert, twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Carl was an accomplished and enthusiastic fisherman, gardener and craftsman. He spent many happy days vacationing with family on Harstine Island and in the San Juans. He loved passing on wisdom to his children and grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Saturday, November 21 at Wesley United Methodist Church.
