Carl Ray Smith, 62, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 26, 2014. Carl was born March 25, 1951 in Flippin, AR to Forest and Elwese Smith. He was the youngest boy in the family of 12 children.
His home has been in Yakima for the last 53 years. Carl had a contagious laugh and was a great storyteller. He always had a story to tell you, which would leave you laughing. He wanted everyone to know that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior, and loved singing Gospel songs. He was a member of Full Gospel Holiness Church in Union Gap, WA.
Carl is survived by his wife Betty; daughter, Carla Smith; sons, Tim and Billy Smith, all of Yakima; six grandchildren, Samantha, Casey, Adam, Skylar, Wesley, and Jeremy; three great grandchildren; brothers, Dale Smith of Flippin, AR, Doyle Smith of Ozark, MO, and Donald Smith of Lead Hill, AR; sisters, LaVerne Adams , JoAnn Ray, both of Gassville, AR, Kathy Rose of Cotter, AR, Norma Shafer of Yakima, Carolyn Huddleston of Austin, TX, Debbie Parks of Silsbee, TX. and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Elwese Smith; sister, Darlene McClendon; brother, Johnny Smith; and daughter, Mary Adams.
