Bruce Warren “Shayowkin” Sampson, Sr., our beloved Dad, Uncle, Brother was born on January 27, 1954, and went on his final home stretch on November 8, 2024.
He was a jack of all trades, man of many Hats. He loved his 9 lives, avid beader, loved to read books, going to yard sales, loved to gamble, loved to play pool, basketball and to run.
His favorite sports teams were the Seattle Seahawks, New York Yankees, Boston Celtics and his passion was being a horse racing jockey, where he is in the Hall of Fame in Saratoga, New York.
He was a hunter, fisherman, lover and a joker and a midnight toker. He loved dancing and traveled Indian Country as a grass dancer. He followed the 7 Drum Religion
He is survived by his sons Elvis Sampson, Bruce “Skipper” Sampson, Jr.; grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His brothers Jerry Sampson, Ted Sampson; sisters Bea Tillequots, Audrey “Smi” Olney, Annette “Tunes” Sampson. He had his 4 special people he held close to his heart: Violet “Bite It” Olney, Blanche Mitchell, Beaudeen “Mouse Tail” Sampson, Valerie Scabby Robe.
He went to be with his Beloved Dog “Wolf.”
