Bruce Lee Hoptowit, 42, of Yakima, Washington, passed away in Wapato, Washington on March 6, 2026.

He was born on November 18, 1983 in Yakima, Washington to Ricky Glenn Hoptowit and Michelle (DePrey) Hoptowit. Bruce grew up in the Yakima valley and was very smart at a young age and was in the “ Program for Accelerated Learning” program at Wide Hollow and Cottonwood Elementary Schools. He dedicated much of his early life to making people laugh, snowboarding, art, football, baseball, golfing, computers, girls, his friends and family, working as a mechanic, fishing, and being the best uncle imaginable.

Known for his quick wit, generous heart, love of cars and how he touched many lives with his willingness to help anyone in need. He had a powerful presence and gave his best advice to people in his life. Bruce was a visionary, he had huge plans and at a young age. He accomplished many of those plans before March 6 and unfortunately his health put a pause on somethings.

He is survived by his mother Michelle Nesary, brother Ricky Hoptowit, Grandmother Mary Ellen DePrey, stepsisters Amanda Nesary and Sarah Nesary, stepbrother Beau Nesary, Aunts, Uncles Cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his Grandmother Gloria Hoptowit, father Ricky Glenn Hoptowit, Grandfather Allan DePtrey, and best friend John Tate.

A memorial service and cake and coffee reception will be held at 1:30 PM on March 27th at the First Babtist Church located at 151 West Wapato Road Wapato, WA 98951. In lieu of flowers charitable contributions may be made to Noah’s Ark in Wapato, WA.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the joy he brought to everyone around him.
