Bruce McDonald Graham

Bruce McDonald Graham passed away Nov. 19, 2015. He was born on Jan. 16, 1917 in Buhl, ID to Van and Ethel Graham. He was one of 14 children who settled in the Satus and Outlook areas of the Lower Yakima Valley in 1918. He graduated from Granger High School in 1936.
In 1038 he married Roberta Monroe in Yakima. Together they raised three sons, Larry, Terry and Merle.
He worked as a farm laborer during the 1940’s and 50’s before going into the sugar beet raising business for himself in the middle 1950’s. He concontinued raising sugar beets until 1962 when he went to work for S.V.I.D. in Sunnyside as a ditchrider until he retired in 1979.
He was preceded in death by his parents, ten brothers and sisters and one son, Terry.
He is survived by three sisters: Ruby Hart, Janice Sheets, and Joanne Jackson; two sons, Larry (Julie) of Yakima, and Merle (Linda) of Granger; 11 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Bruce was a famous gardener and enjoyed his tomatoes, squash and watermelons. At his request there will be no formal services. A special gathering of his friends and family will be held in the spring of 2016.
