Brian Kalama was born May 19, 2001 to his Father Foster Kalama Jr. and his mother Deloris Picard. He was raised in Mission, OR Umatilla Indian Reservation and in Wapato, WA Yakama Nation Reservation. He attended Wapato High School.
He enjoyed movies, making his own music, singing roundancing song and singing traditional songs, played lacrosse, skateboarding, swimming, making Native American crafts, traveling to Pow Wows, going to the mountains and spending time with his family and friends. He attended Longhouse and raised Washat.
His father, Foster Kalama Jr. his mother, Deloris Picard, his grandfather Foster Kalama Sr. grandfather Jum Bill and great grandmother Pauline Yallup survive Brian. His grandmother Joanna Yallup, grandmother Weatsie Bill and great grandfather Wally Yallup precede him.
A dressing was held at the Toppenish Longhouse in Toppenish, WA Monday, June 18, 2018 at 5:00 PM with overnight services that followed. Burial will be at sunrise Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the McCoy Cemetery in Toppenish, WA.
