Billy Lexie Dean Delp finished his journey here on earth and went to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 25, 2015. He was born to Nora and Roy Delp in Thornfield, Missouri on March 19, 1935. He attended school in Missouri. He married Neoma Hendricks in 1955 and later divorced in 1978. Billy was inducted into the Army in 1956. After his service ended he was employed at Stokely’s in Zillah and Marathon Corp., as well as Sunnyside Irrigation District. He attended Ahtanum Church of God in Yakima for some time and enjoyed the singing and Pastor Tim’s preaching, as well as the monthly potlucks. He was a regular every day at the Zillah McDonald’s where he went for coffee and breakfast. They enjoyed and looked forward to him coming every day and called him Billy Bob.
Billy is survived by a daughter, Debbie Jo (Jerry) Humphrey of Yakima; two sisters Barbara Kroes of Toppenish and Wilma Jean Swearengin of Kansas City, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his long time and very special friend Anna Luper whom was a very faithful friend to him.
He is preceded in death by six brothers, Marvin “Newt” Delp, Delmas Mark Delp, Hershchell Delp, Doyal Delp, Boyd Delp and Donald Delp; three sisters, Bonnie Rae Lawson, Jewell Marsh, and Mildred Graves.
For those who held a special place in their heart for him, he will be greatly missed.
There will be a graveside service at the Zillah Cemetery on Saturday February 7, 2015 at 11:00am followed by a luncheon at the Toppenish Eagles. Online tributes can be shared at www.valleyhillsfh.com. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima is in care of the arrangements.
