Bill Lee, 86, died September 7, 2022. He was born June 28, 1936 in Wardner, ID to Roy & Dora Lee. He spent his youth in Idaho, Alaska, and Washington culminating with his graduation from Yakima High School in 1955. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army spending three years stationed in Germany. Upon returning to Yakima, Bill began his plumber apprenticeship, a decision that opened the doors to a long career as a plumber/pipefitter. He worked at Central Heating and Air over 16 years, followed by another 16 years at Hanford retiring in 1996. For over sixty years, he was a proud member of Plumbers 598 Local. On April 25,1965, Bill married the love of his life Darlene Lillie, a marriage that would last over 57yrs. He was the proud father of two children, Monica and Eric. Bill was an avid outdoorsman who spent many weekends hunting, fishing and camping with friends and family throughout the Pacific Northwest. His travels included many parts of the US and World from Alaska to Maine to Brownsville, Texas mostly via RV but also cruises in the Netherlands and through the Panama Canal. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Jimmy Lee. He is survived by his wife, Darlene (Lillie) Lee, his son, Eric Lee and his wife, Holly of Yakima, daughter, Monica Saunders and her husband Russ of Harrisonville, MO, and two grandchildren Seb Lee and Stefan Saunders. A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24th at Valley Hills Funeral Home.
