Bev Luby Bartz passed away June 24, 2017 surrounded by her family. Bev was born July 16, 1938 to Frank and Mary (Hunt) Bryner in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bev grew up in South Seattle and Maple Valley, WA.
In 1955 she married Robert George Luby until their divorce in 1975. She worked in the computer department at Boeing in Renton for many years until their move to Grand Coulee, WA. In 1975 she moved to Moses Lake, WA and worked as a scheduling supervisor at U&I Sugar. In 1977 she married Edward Eugene Bartz and moved to Selah, WA and worked at the Yakima Assessor’s Office. In 1995 she moved to Yakima, WA and opened Bevy’s Boutique in the Yakima Mall. Bev was very active in the communities including: Maple Valley Community Club Queen, South King County Junior Deputy Sheriff’s Patrol, Job’s Daughter Bethel 49, Briarwood PTA, Cub Scout Den Mother of the Year, Blue Bird Leader, Campfire Girls Guardian, League of Women Voters, National Organization for Women, Down Town Residents Association of Yakima, and Yakima Public Facility Board.
Bev is survived by her son Robert John Luby(Ruth Warner) of Covington, WA and daughter Barbara Luby Goss(John) of Old Town, Idaho; her sisters Patti Milam of Maple Valley, WA and Carol Bhatia-Preze of Renton, WA; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Bev is preceded in death by her son Benjamin Ray Luby, husband Edward E. Bartz, ex-husband Robert G. Luby, parents Frank and Mary Bryner and sister Diane Ridley.
The family would like to thank everyone at Brookdale Chesterley Assisted Living and Heartlinks Hospice for all of their help and support.
