Betty Zimmer

Betty Amisetta Zimmer (Myers), born 8/30/24 to Marion Gatewood Briscoe & John Myers in Wapato, passed away on 12/1/2018 at Cottage in the Meadow. On 11/22/41 Betty married the love of her life Walter Zimmer & resided in Yakima County all her life. Betty worked for many years at Matson Fruit. She enjoyed gardening, social gatherings with friends & family, baking, embroidery, going to the beach, playing cards – especially canasta & casino trips. Betty is preceded in death by her parents & husband of 62 years, Walter. She is survived by son Don/Linda Zimmer of La Conner, daughter Joanne Lundberg/Jim Walker of Yakima, son Gene Juarez of Seattle, 4 grandchildren: Joe, Julie, Megan, & Paige, & 7 great grandchildren. Special thanks to nurse April (home hospice), current & former staff of Brookdale of Yakima for the daily care they provided & a very special thanks to Cottage in the Meadow for their wonderful end of life care. Services will be held on December 14th at 11 a.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Terrace Heights. Donations can be made to Cottage in the Meadow.
