On Sunday, August 13, 2023, Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Betty Jean Vineyard (Gallant) entered into heavenly slumber with her family at her side. Betty was 83. Betty was born to Harry and Alberta Gallant on September 23, 1939 in Yakima, WA. Betty grew up in the Seattle area and moved to the Cowiche/Tieton area as a teen and made the area her home for more than 50 years. Betty attended Highland High School and later graduated from Yakima Business College. She held various jobs within the fruit industry including Strand Apples. Later Betty worked as a bookkeeper for Jack Frost Fruit. Betty served as city clerk for the City of Tieton for 17 years. Betty was dedicated to her job and the Tieton community. Betty married Carl Vineyard and had 3 children Terry, Pamela and Randal. She worked hard to provide for her children. Betty was beautiful, articulate, and quick witted. She was a giver and always cooking or doing something to bless others. Betty enjoyed gardening and her yard was framed with roses and flowers. Her vegetable garden supplied her with the ingredients for her secret salsa recipe. In addition, Betty enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, ceramics, collecting antiques, and salmon fishing with her father and son Randy.. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Gallant and Alberta Lalande. Step Mother Oma Gallant, son, Terry Vineyard and life long friend, C.G. Robbins. Betty is survived by her daughter, Pamela Fuerst of Selah, son, Randy Vineyard of Moxee, sisters Nancy (Van) Jordan of Arizona and Ginger Quaresma of Prosser. Grandchildren, Bill Vineyard, Christopher, Dave, and Michelle Wissman, Jennelle Alexander, Haley Fuerst, Holly, Jeremy and Adam Vineyard, Andy and Shane Vineyard. Great grandchildren; Jaylee, Harley, Lyla, Ilana, Brianna, Zayden, Braxton, Victoria, Kenzie, Veyda, Grayson, Nicole, Matt, Maisie, Alexis, Colton, Lauren, Hopelynn, and Destanie. Great-great grandchildren; Cassia, Leilani, Kaydence, Amelia, Nadia, Lukas, Clara, Lilly, Calvin and Emma. Her beloved dog, Rasiliena. Celebration of Betty’s life will be held Friday, August 25th at Valley Hills in Terrace Heights. Please join us for refreshments at 9:30 with her service following at 10:00.
