Betty Peterson

Betty Peterson died peacefully on April 2, 2018 at the age of 86 in her home in Yakima, Washington with her daughter Teresa Brennan by her side. Betty was born September 25, 1931 in Orr, North Dakota to Glen and Roxey Hulick. She shared her youth with two sisters, Dorothy and Shirley. On December 20,1951 she married Albert Peterson. They had two children, Randy and Teresa. They were married 62 years before Al died in 2014. Betty worked as a lab tech at West Seattle Hospital, Burien General Hospital, and Toppenish Hospital. She retired from the Grandview Farm Workers Clinic. Betty resided in North Dakota, Seattle, Cle Elum, Grandview, and Yakima, Washington. Betty and Al were members of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sunnyside since 1977 where they shared many wonderful moments with the beloved church family. They loved to go camping and enjoy the nature of the Pacific Northwest. Summers were spent in North Dakota and Minnesota visiting family. Many years were spent dancing at Polka Fests with friends. Betty traveled many times to visit Teresa and son-in-law Ross Brennan in Italy. The greatest joy in Betty’s life was family and friends. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, sister Dorothy, son Randy and husband Albert. She is survived by daughter Teresa and son-in-law Ross Brennan, sister Shirley, nephews Roger and Mike, grandchildren Jason, Shane, Sheri, and Justin and great grandchildren Taylor, Memphis, Lilliana, Shia and Tinsley. A memorial service will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church 1106 Taylor Ave., Sunnyside, WA on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A special thank you goes to all the staff from Heartlinks Hospice for all of your loving care.
