Betty Jeanne (Gorsline) LaForge, 89, passed away on March 23, 2023. Betty was born on January 1, 1934, to Guy & Edna Gorsline in Enterprise, Oregon. She was an only child and grew up in eastern Oregon on her parents’ ranch.
She married the love of her life, Harold E LaForge, on April 4, 1951, in Pendleton Oregon. Together they had six children and raised them in Oregon until 1970, when they moved to Wapato, WA to raise cattle. She was a full-time homemaker, enjoyed raising her kids and working on the ranch.
Betty was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She dearly loved her family and was happiest when surrounded by them. She also loved her animals and being able to jump on her four-wheeler to check on the farm. Betty enjoyed spending time on horseback in the mountains and camping with friends and family. She was very quiet natured, loyal and loving to all she knew.
Survivors include her children: Roy LaForge, Susan (David) Allred, Edna (Bill) Tilton, Jim LaForge and Debbie Callihan, along with other special friends we brought home with us. Her Grandchildren: Jennifer (Brad) Calhoun, Amanda (Dennis) Fiander, Amy Allred, Mahala (Jake)Tewalt, Leah LaForge & Nathanael LaForge and Great Grandchildren: Mayceann, Reece, Alli, Hunter, Alexis & Alaiah.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold LaForge and two sons Vernon LaForge and Rick LaForge.
Services will be held on Saturday April 1st at 9:30 am at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Wapato. Graveside services will immediately follow at Reservation Cemetery in Wapato.
