Betty R. Hartsell, 73, of Yakima died Monday at Peace Health Medical in Vancouver, Wash. Mrs. Hartsell was born in Lead Hill, Ark. She had lived in Yakima and then moved to Reno, Nev., where she worked at a company that manufactured slot machines for the casinos. She moved back to Yakima in 2007.
Survivors include her husband, James Earl Hartsell Sr. of Yakima; three sons, Mark J. Batemon of Yakima, Jim Hartsell Jr. and Ed Hartsell; six daughters, Angie Jones, Jeniece Hartsell, Jennette Hartsell, Joyce Hartsell, Justina Hartsell and Joy Hartsell; a brother, Charles Akins of Mesa; and five sisters, Gladys Cain of Saratoga, Ark., Virginia Ray Stone of Cowiche, Mary Summers of Walla Walla, Naoma Fay Forbes of Yakima and Shirley K. Toolou of Coulee Dam.
At her request, no services will be held. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory, Yakima.
