Betty Goehri

Betty Lou Goehri was unexpectedly called home by her Lord and Savior on October 1, 2016 at the age of 80. She was born on March 16, 1936 to Lloyd and Nora Sumerlin in Yakima. She was the youngest of three girls. Instead of graduating from Yakima High School she married Robert Himes in 1954 and they had one son. In 1968 she met Jack Goehri and they married in 1969. They moved to Moses Lake and ran a feed lot with his father. While living in Moses Lake they adopted a daughter Jessica June. They moved back to Wiley City in 1986 and started a vending machine business. Jack passed in 2006 and Betty sold the ranch and moved back to Yakima. Betty came down with lung cancer stage 4 in 2014. She beat it with treatments then in 2015 it came back and she couldn’t beat it this time. Betty was baptized at the Wiley Union Gospel Church and she completely believed in the Lord. Betty loved to go to the Legends Casino with her best friends Fred and Judy Elander. She also loved her Seahawks and she never missed a game. Her favorite tv show as Dancing with the Stars. She loved milkshakes and drank them whenever she could get one. Betty had a small white poodle that was her companion and his name was Dog. Betty is survived by her son Robert K. Himes, Jr and daughter Jessica June Goehri. She had 9 grandchildren: Michelle Himes, Kenney Himes, Brian Himes (Amanda), Jeffery Himes (deceased), Marcus Himes, Ryan Conrad (who was her caregiver since 2014), Cheyenne Brown (Cole), Cole Conrad, and Chelsey Conrad; sisters Ruby Estep and NoraBelle Peets (deceased); a nephew Jack Morse (he took care of her appointments and all her running to make her life easier); a niece who lived next door and did whatever she needed, Shirley Cook (Chuck); four great grandchildren: Jacob Himes, Kadean Himes, Noraya Himes and Degan Himes.
