Ben Sartin was born September 12, 1957. A man known for his kindness, love, and ability to connect with anyone he met, has passed away, leaving behind a trail of cherished memories and a legacy of warmth and compassion. Ben went to be with Jesus on May 19th, 2023 at the age of 65.
Ben was the beloved son of Pete and Donna Sartin. Throughout his life, he carried an inherent ability to forge connections with people effortlessly. Ben's welcoming smile and open-hearted nature meant that he never met a stranger. He had a unique gift of making everyone he encountered feel seen, heard, and valued.
Ben's greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Tami, who stood beside him throughout their shared adventures. They first met cutting asparagus when they were kids, but sparks flew years later on the baseball field and together they created a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Ben's children, AJ and Lizzy Sartin, and Sami Jo Sartin, were the pride and joy of his existence. He wholeheartedly embraced his role as a father, providing unwavering love, guidance, and support as they pursued their dreams.
In addition to his immediate family, Ben leaves behind a lasting legacy through his grandchildren, Brooke, Colton, and Harper Sartin. He found immense happiness and fulfillment in spending time with them, creating precious moments filled with joy, laughter, and unconditional love. Ben's love for his grandchildren knew no bounds, and he relished in being their mentor and confidant.
Ben had a passion for several hobbies that brought him great pleasure. He always looked forward to his October hunting trips and the brotherhood he had with those hunting alongside him. He was a member of the Yakima County Roping Club and was fortunate to win the year end saddle in 2004 which he was so proud of that he promptly backed over it in his pickup.
Vacations spent with his friends were also a source of joy for Ben, as he cherished the opportunity to create lasting memories and strengthen the bonds of friendship. Ben also took up the challenge of golf, enjoying the camaraderie and the pursuit of improving his swing, even if his scorecard didn't always reflect his efforts.
Throughout his life, Ben exemplified a strong work ethic and dedication to his endeavors. Starting Sartin trucking in college with his father and one truck, to taking over his Fathers State Farm legacy, his commitment to his responsibilities earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and peers. Ben's integrity and passion shone through in all that he pursued, making him a role model for those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Ben's departure from this world leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we mourn the loss of this remarkable man, let us also celebrate his life, his love, and the positive impact he had on our lives. May his kindness, love, and ability to connect with others serve as a lasting inspiration for us all.
A Memorial Service to honor and remember Ben Sartin will be held on May 30th, 2023 at Grandview Nazarene Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Diamond J Rodeo Bible Camp in Ben's name, as a testament to his generous spirit and desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
Though Ben is no longer with us physically, his spirit will forever live on in our hearts and in the countless lives he touched. Rest in peace, dear Ben, knowing that your love and warmth will never be forgotten.
