Benjamin S. Dumo of Wapato passed away at the age of 79.
Benjamin was born on May 6, 1937 in Bauang La Union, Philippines. He grew up with three siblings and he spent much of his childhood independently. He went to school in Bauang La Union, Phils and also worked as a taxi driver in the Philippines.
He married Teodora Arreola on Nov. 23, 1963 in Baguio in Phils. They had 5 children, the youngest Angelica Dumo passed away during birth. He was very proud of all his children’s accomplishments.
Benjamin Dumo migrated to the US in 1987, where he has lived and worked in the woodwork industry. He enjoyed cooking with his favorite dishes: Kilawen, Kaldereta, and Lechon.
He is survived by his daughters, Rosemarie (husband, Norman) and Josephine (husband, Wally); sons, Rolando (wife, Cynthia) and Rizalito (wife, Annie); five grandchildren, Karen, Kristine, Kyle, Joshwall, and Kobe; and great grandson, Logan; one sister, Sepa Balagot in La Union, Phils.
Visitation will be held on Friday March 24, 2017 from 4-8pm with a Vigil Service at 6pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Wapato. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday March 25, 2017 at 8:00am at Holy Rosary Church in Moxee. Graveside services will follow at 10:00 at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Following services the family will have a meal at World Bistro China Buffet on Nob Hill in Yakima.
