Barbara Staudinger

Mrs. Barbara June (Boyd) Staudinger passed away on December 27, 2015 at her home in Wapato, WA at the age of 71, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Barbara was born April 7, 1944 in Chelsea, MA at the Chelsea Navel Hospital to James and June (Clark) Boyd. Her parents raised Barbara and her three siblings, James (Ann) Boyd, Richard (Patrice) Boyd and Beverly (Carl) Boyd Gerade in Reading, MA. In 1967, Barbara graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in education. She began her teaching career in New Hampshire and then decided to try out teaching in Marysville, WA. Barbara soon met Jerry Staudinger and they were married on June 14, 1969. In 1970, Barbara and Jerry moved to Jerry’s hometown of Wapato, WA and they both taught there until they retired. Barbara loved being an amazing mom and grammy. She was fond of gardening and traveling abroad. She enjoyed her involvement in ADK with her friends and fellow teachers for many years. Barbara was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She always put her heart and love into everything she did and was loved and appreciated by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Barbara is survived by her husband, Jerry Staudinger; daughter, Heidi Wheeler; son, Scott Staudinger, Scotts wife Angela and her three grandchildren, Ender, Ensley and Dylan; as well as her sister, brothers, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 10:00am at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah.
