Barbara Schwenk

May 25, 1932 — June 15, 2017

Barbara A. Schwenk, 85 of Yakima WA. passed away on June 15, 2017 after a battle with dementia. Barbara is survived by her four sons: Daniel Schwenk of Dayton NV., Herbert Schwenk of Colorado Springs, CO, DeLos Schwenk of Sunland CA. and Mark Schwenk of Yakima WA. Her three granddaughters: April Charboneau, of Seattle WA. Dawn Charboneau and Heather Kelley both from Yakima WA. Her grandson Dennis Sills, of Yakima, her 2 granddaughters Stephanie Sills and Kristie Sills. Both of CA. Not to mention her several great grandchildren. Barbara retired from the Yakima VFW club in Yakima where she made numerous friends. Barbara excelled in art while in high school and won several awards for her expressive drawings. Her main goal in life was to make sure her 6 children had what they needed, giving her all for them. Her children were her life, they completed her life. Barbara had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Her last wish was to have her boys with her at the end. She got her wish as De has been by her side since mid-May as well as Mark and Dan and Herb arrived in early June. She passed peacefully and will be truly missed. A family gathering to celebrate her life will be held in the immediate future. Barbara was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Herbert N. Schwenk Jr, her daughter Donna Schwenk Sills Denton, and her son Douglas Schwenk. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Garden Village and their superior staff for providing excellent hospice care.
