Barbie A. Maybee, 50 passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Cottage in the Meadow with her loving family and friends by her side. Barbie fought stage 4 Breast Cancer for 10 years and she found incredibly hard. Barbie was such an inspiration to so many people and was the definition of what it is to “Live like you’re dying”. Barbie was born on March 22, 1967 to Bill and Barbara Sullivan. Barbie graduated from East Valley High School in 1985. She married her best friend and loving husband Tim Maybee on February 27, 1998 over Las Vegas in a hot air balloon. Barbie is survived by her husband Tim and most precious gifts from God, Shane and McKenzie. Her siblings: Connie Sullivan, Teresa Harper (Curt Johnson), Bill Sullivan (Traci), and Sheila Ramirez (Chris). Father and mother-in-law Tim and Florence Maybee. Barbie was the favorite aunt of all her nieces and nephews, she made everyone of them feel loved and special. She made them all laugh with her silly and amazing personality. From a very young age Barbie developed a special bond with her Aunt Linda. Barbie is preceded in death by her parents, father Bill on May 18, 2007 and mom Barbara on July 24, 2016. Barbie worked for many years at U.S. Bank eventually holding the position of manager until she became ill. After several years of fighting for her life she became strong enough to return to the work force as a manager at Banner Bank. Many long lasting friendships were developed during these times. Barbie loved to travel with her family. During the past ten years she experienced more than most people do in a lifetime. She and the family went to St. Croix this past August. A Celebration of Barbie’s Life will be at 10:30 am on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Yakima Foursquare Church (700 N. 40th Ave.). In honor of Barbie’s favorite food group, we will have a delicious dessert bar. Donations can be made to Valley Hills Funeral Home in Barbie’s memory. The family would like to thank Dr. Vicky Jones and all the staff at NorthStar Lodge for 10 more joyous years with her family.
