Barbara Kaufman

November 12, 1952 — June 18, 2018

Barbara Jean Kaufman passed on to heaven,  Monday, June 18, 2018 after a long fought battle with cancer.   Barb was born on November 12, 1952 in Yakima, WA to Eugene and Geneva Benton.  She graduate from A.C. Davis High School in 1971 and married Roy Anderson in 1972.  After many years as a housewife she and friend Donna Henning opened Donna's Kitchen, a popular restaurant on Yakima Ave.  After Donna's Kitchen closed Barb opened her own spot called Barb's 1004 on 1st Street.  She was known for her generous portions, friendly service, and amazing hamburgers.   Barb retired in 2002, although she never quit working even up to the weeks preceding her death.  She married William Kaufman in June 2002 and they enjoyed fishing and traveling any chance they got.  She was an amazing grandmother "Pama" and bragged about her grandchildren to anyone that would listen. She left an impression on everyone she met and did her best to live life to the fullest everyday.   Barb is survived by her husband William (Bill) Kaufman, her son Roy David Anderson Jr., (Tracy) her grandchildren Lindsay and Savannah Anderson, her brothers Richard (Judy) DeZarn, Jim (Jan) DeZarn, Del (Pam) DeZarn and many nieces and nephews.   The family would like to thank the staff at Northstar Lodge and Cottage in the Meadow who provided excellent care during her battle with cancer.  A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Terrace Heights Baptist Church at 11:00AM.
