Arturo Jimenez

Arturo Suarez, 72, of Yakima passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. He was born in Pijuamo, Jalisco, Mexico on January 12, 1941 to Pedro Suarez and Maria de Jesus Jimenez. Arturo married Olivia Suarez on December 21, 1985. He worked for Simplot as a machine operator for over 15 years. Arturo loved gardening, dancing, and listening to traditional mariachi music. He enjoyed being with his family – especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed reading his paper outside while listening to his music! Arturo is survived by his wife, Olivia Suarez of Yakima; sons, Arturo Suarez, Jr. of Yakima, Jorge Suarez of Fontana, CA, and Efrain Suarez of Fontana, CA; daughters, Maria Elena Banuelos of Los Angeles, CA, Araceli Suarez of American Falls, ID, Veronica Gomez of Ellensburg, WA, and Maria Suarez of Yakima; brothers, Pedro Suarez of Yakima, Lupe Suarez of Mexico, and Raymundo Suarez of Mexico; sisters, Francisca Gonzalez of Mexico, Aurora Suarez of Yakima, Rosario Suarez of Wenatchee, Hermalinda Mendez of CA, Maria Olivera of Cowiche, and Eloisa Cuevas of Wenatchee; 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Suarez and Maria de Jesus Jimenez; son, Esaul Suarez; and sister, Estella Larios. Visitation will be offered from 12:00p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes in Selah. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday also at the church. Burial will take place at a later date in Mexico.
