Arlen Ramos – Moses, Sr.
Arlen Ramos – Moses, Sr. “Holy Moses” paid his fees and is getting ready with his horse Oscar to go to the roping arena in the sky to win that Gold Buckle on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026 at his home and with his loving wife at Look Back Hill Ranch, White Swan, Washington. Arlen left behind an essence and legacy of appreciation of all creation, hard work, intelligence, spirituality and love. Arlen cared for all of the community (more particularly the horses) and will always be known for his keen sense of humor, compassion, and care.
Arlen was born December 25, 1933 at his grandmother’s (Annie Miller) old homestead on South Brownstown and Fort Road, White Swan, Washington to Martha Culumbus – Talpocken and Morris Ramos. He was raised by various family members such as his uncles, Hadley and Max John, his stepfather Jack Moses along with several other family members.
Arlen fell in love at first sight while on a cattle drive and became determined to marry Ledenies Mary Whalawitsa – Moses, and did so on April 23rd, 1955. Legend has it he fell in love with her blue cowboy hat.
Arlen and Ledenies (Mary) has been blessed and enjoyed spending time with their four children, the late Debbie (Dutches) Moses – Mclavey, Balwin, Joe Arlie and the late Annette Swimptkin - Moses, Velma Jean (Cooky) Moses and the late Roger Fiander, and Arlen Wade (Thumper) Moses and grandchildren, Jackie McLavey-Deane, Sterling J. McLavey, Joey Moses, Chet Moses, Tiny Moses, Clint Moses, Katelind Moses, Cash Fiander and Chance Fiander along with their significant other(s). Arlen is also survived by several of his great – grandchildren and family members and friends to whom he cared for from the bottom of his heart.
Rosary Services will begin on Sunday, March 8th, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Valley Hills Funeral Home, Wapato, Washington, then be transferred to the Moses Family home and Ranch (Look Back Hill Ranch) for an overnight family wake.
From the family home on Monday, March 9th, 2026 Arlen will be transferred to the White Swan Community Center at approximately 6:00 a.m. and Cowboy Catholic Mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m.
From the White Swan Community Center, Arlen will be transferred to his final resting place, Wahlalakite Cemetery, located at Ahtanum, Washington, beginning at approximately 11:00 a.m.
Dinner will be provided upon return with Arlen’s favorite foods, doing it San Francisco 49ers tail-gate party style back at the White Swan Community Center.
