July 16, 1959 — February 22, 2018

It is with great sadness the family of Antonio “Tony” Ceja, 59, announce his passing on February 22, 2018, after recovery complications from cardiovascular disease. Antonio, born in Michoacán, came to the United States as a teenager. Soon thereafter, he devoted many years to shaping the surrounding agricultural beauty as a fruit picker, pruner, and foreman. To all who knew him, he once was considered the fastest picker in the valley. In 2001, he passionately began working for the St Joseph Marquette School in Yakima, Washington. Antonio proudly served 16 years to the staff and students as the schools maintenance man and bus driver. Antonio was always willing to take on another hat for the betterment of the school. Antonio’s favorites hobbies included listening to music, spoiling his two poodles, and the rush of playing a hand at the blackjack table. Antonio is survived by his long- time companion Sally, daughters Lolita (Lola) and Sara, granddaughter Aiyana, his mother Guadalupe, sister Graciela, nephews Jaime, Hector, Juan, Marcos, niece Lucia, and stepdaughters Pumpkin, Terri, and stepson Boy-Boy.
