Obituary for (Anna) Louise Boyd, 7/7/1947 – 9/6/2014 Louise was born to A.C. Harvey and Ida (Fogel) Harvey in 1947 in Seattle, WA. She attended schools in Everett and graduated in 1965, then attended Peterson Business. She then traveled to Rockford, IL, where she worked for the Barbara-Coleman Co. Returning to Selah, where her parents resettled after retirement in 1971. She went to work for the YSO as a clerk dispatcher and occasional matron, where she met the love of her life that would last 42 years until her death. George was a young policeman with the Selah police, it was love at first sight for both and they married in 1972. After marriage to George they later moved to the Wenas and introduced her to the hay and cattle ranch owned by his folks, where she learned to ride a horse, gather and trail cattle from the spring range in Kelly Gulch to summer pasture at Coffin Mountain range and the gather and trail them back to the ranch in the fall for several years. Thus the ending of an era, she was a born country girl and never failed to take on a ranch task. George being a Shriner and Mason in 1987, she joined the Daughter of the Nile where she served as past Queen and recorder and was a charter member of El Shelom #158 Yakima. She traveled through the US and Canada to attend Daughters of Nile Supreme Sessions. She was a superb cook, jam and jelly maker of elderberries and received blue ribbons each time she exhibited her elderberry jelly at the fair. She loved to make things for her grandchildren, including a bed quilt for her granddaughter Kalei. She worked for Bob Jump, Roy Sample and 20 years for Coldwell Bankers Associated Realty as a book keeper and always received high marks for her bookkeeping skills. She is preceded by her father A.C. Harvey, mother and father in law Jean and Jack Boyd. She is survived by her husband George, son David (Stephanie and two granddaughters), son Scott (Jill and two grandsons), son Kevin (Rebekah and grandson), brother Ray (Debbie) a niece and nephew, sister Thelma (Jesse) Burns, mother Ida Harvey, brother in law John (Linda), brother in law Jim, and two of her closest friends Dorothy Justice and Kay Lansing and her three constant cat companions Tuffy, Hip Hop and Sammy who gave her joy and comfort. Burial will take place in the Wenas Cemetery on Friday September 12th at 2:00PM. Those wishing to attend please meet at the cemetery. Pastor Steve Trotter from Naches Presbyterian will officiate as well as the Daughters of the Nile Ritual. There will be a private viewing for family and close friends per her request at Valley Hills Funeral Home, in Yakima. Those who wish to donate may do so to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle or Shriners Children Hospital in Spokane. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jones, Northstar and the wonderful Nurses at the Cottage in the Meadow Hospice. Valley Hills Funeral Home is caring for the family.
