Andy Gerald George Jr., was born Aug. 17th, 1939 and passed away June 14th, 2021 in Yakima, Wa. Andy was born at the Memorial Hospital in the Yakima Valley; Andy is an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation. Andy was an avid pool player, he played in many tournaments with his late wife Muriel. He loved going to the river where he worked with the late Virgil Hunt; fishing was a huge part of his life and upbringing. He enjoyed taking trips up to the mountains to gather his traditional foods.
Andy is survived by his many sisters and brothers and two aunts Sara Jones, and Virginia Beavert. Andy leaves behind two granddaughters, Amber and Starlatia Marquez, along with three great-granddaughters, Elenianna”Amber”, Peyton Ray”Starlatia”, and Ismerai”Amber”. He is preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Takeal-George, his daughters Andrea Nancy George, Julene ‘Doolies’ George, and Carmen Rene George. His parents Andy George Sr., and Florence Gould, his aunties Juanita Kash Kash, grandmothers Amelia George, Ella Kash Kash, and Ellen Saluskin. Also brothers Bill Wheeler Sr., Ken Wheeler, Richard ‘Mokey’ George, Willard George, Earl George, Robert George, Wendall George, and one sister Carol George.
Andy had two very special people in his life, who were not only there whenever he needed help but became his caregivers during his last final months. The family appreciates all of the love given by his nephew and niece, Richard Metsker, and Leonie George.
