Andrew Arthur Maki, 67, of Yakima passed away unexpectedly at home, Wednesday, October
10, 2018. He was born June 26, 1951 in Yakima WA to Arthur and Betty Maki. He was a
graduate of West Valley High School and YVCC. He went on to work for Yakima Fruit and Cold
Storage where he worked for 45 years.
He was very loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He always loved to talk about his
grand-children. He told many stories (that his kids and grand-kids can recite verbatim) that will
be greatly missed.
He was a walking “sports encyclopedia” and a die-hard Seattle Seahawks and Mariners fan.
He also enjoyed golfing and “betting on the ponies”.
He is survived by his son Aaron Maki, (Margaret Augustson), daughter Valerie and (Steve)
Stewart, five grand-children, two great-grandchildren and his sister Judy Gebhardt.
He was preceded in death by his father Art and mother Betty and brother and best friend Ted
Maki.
A celebration of life honoring our dad will be held for friends and family from 3-5 on Saturday, October 13th at 4805 Castleview Dr. in Yakima.
