On May 31, 2015, Alvin Carda died peacefully with his loving wife and family by his side. He suffered for two years with Lewy body dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
Al was born April 29, 1926 to John and Rose Carda of Lake Andes, SD. He was in the Navy. He square danced for many years, and then moved to ballroom dancing. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Anyone who met Al knew his infectious big smile and bright blue eyes. He was filled with love and gave it freely.
He retired from United Builders.He was a proud family man and enthusiastically was a father figure to his local grandson, Jacob Larson. He was a Seahawks fan and dearly loved his Yankees.
He loved polka dancing with his daughter and golfing with his two sons.
He is survived by his wife Hazel after almost 69 years of marriage, his son Dan and wife Renn-e from Riverside, CA, Tim and wife Jenna from Tampa Bay, FL, daughter Cheryl Carda from Yakima, a sister, Elsie from Lake Andes, SD, many nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by so many who love him.
Services will be held June 5th at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church in Yakima.
