" Qui " Alvin Arquette Gonzales was the most beautiful, handsome, kind hearted man you could ever meet. He was a member of the Yakama Nation and Proud descendant of the Snoqualmie, Puyallup, Blackfeet and Sioux Tribes.
As his own free spirit and his brother, Benjamin's "Hipster", Alvin lived his life of endless adventures on his own terms. He grew up in White Swan with his older brother Benjamin, his little sister Echo and his baby brother (he named) Aaron Alvin, his cousin's Jacob, Korey, Swan cousins, Arquette cousins, and was the most adventurous of "The Driveway Kids". When staying with his Hoptowit Cousins, Christopher, Matt and Josh, he was one of "The Usual Suspects"
Along with his Mom and Dad, Alvin was raised by his loving Grandparents, Jacqueline Rigg Gonzales, who he loved with all his heart & inherited his love for artistry. Barbara Jim, who provided him his favorite dried salmon and Lukameen. His Tila Russel Jim who taught him to Drum, Sing, Hunt, and Fish.
As it takes an entire village to raise our children, Jason, Jarod Jordan, Julia, Janine, Nats, Katie, Leslie, Jade, Melissa, Robin, Benjamin, Echo and Baby Brother Aaron also ensured Alvin was watched over and safe especially when they all ran up on the hill together, wearing their Mud Moccasins, building their tree house and planning their next adventures. Alvin made time for Echo when she was Wrestling, with his comically serious personality he taught her to "STOP Folding Herself Up!" as he was an excellent Wrestler and went to State tournaments and Little Guy Wrestling tournaments every weekend with his brother Benjamin. He made his own stilts and you could see him walking through the sage brush, up the hill and into his Uncle Nick & Auntie Vicki's home, she loved him with her entire heart. His Uncle JJ took him to the mountains and Auntie Tunia also made sure he made it to school safely. His Uncle Tim Arquette and Uncle Kenny Hoptowit ensured Alvin was in the hills, on the lakes fishing for trout. His Uncle Ki ensured he was available for cruises as they took care of each other.
Alvin became the father to Liam Alvin Lewis. He and Liam shared the gifts of building, drawing, and swimming. Liam loved riding quads, motorcycles and horses with his Daddy.
Alvin was his Mom's Coastal kid that loved the ocean, rivers, lakes, beaches, salmon, sushi and shrimp-proving his cultural connection to the Washington and Oregon Coasts.
Alvin was a self-taught mechanic. He had the innate ability to fix and rebuild any dirt bike, truck, quad, or car with only his tools on hand and usually parts meticulously obtained from any scrap pile.
Though his physical absence leaves a visceral void in our lives, Alvin's Beautiful Smile, his boisterous laughter, jovial spirit, his Bright Light-that will never be dimmed-will live on in the hearts of those that truly, sincerely knew him and loved him. Alvin will be forever remembered by all that were so fortunate to meet him, know him and love him.
