Alice Lucille Walker, 91, of Yakima passed away on Wednesday, October 2 at home. She was born on November 11, 1922 to Henry and Leoma (Denney) Hackley in Missoula, MT. Alice has lived in the Yakima Valley since 1948. She worked as a commercial cook for many years for Washington Junior High, Memorial Hospital, and the Union Gospel Mission. She also worked as a fundraiser for the Democratic Party, the Children’s Miracle Network, and for the Genealogical Society. She was a foster mom for over 20 years. She is survived by her daughters, Leoma Maxson of Yakima, Ann Wear of Vancouver, WA, Betty La Pradd of Yakima, and Lois Williams of Yakima; brothers, Robert Hackley of Tacoma, WA, Tom Hackley of Culbertson, MT, and Ray Hackley of Twin Falls, ID; sisters, Mabel Renz of Poplar, MT, and Amy Jean Pittman of Denver, CO; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at West Valley Nazarene Church at a later date with inurnment to be held at Cherry Creek Cemetery in Montana.
