Albert Plesha, born April 19,1923 passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 2, 2016 at The Chandler House in Yakima, WA. His family moved from Delnice, Croatia to Rosyln and Albert told wonderful stories of growing up there as a coal miner’s son. After enlisting in the Navy at age 18, he sailed the M. S. Sommelsijk and was awarded the Purple Heart when his ship was torpedoed in the South Pacific Ocean. Once recovered, he proudly worked for the WSDOT for 34 years.
Albert is survived by his wife Donna of almost 63 years; daughter Karen (Doug) Harris; son Jerry (Judi) Plesha; four grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
His family wishes to thank the staff of The Chandler House for the quality, loving care he received there the last two years of his life.
