Albert Peterson died peacefully at home July 18, 2014 at the age of 91. He was born in Roosevelt, Minnesota to Olga Morien and Frank Peterson. He grew up with 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
In 1951 Albert married Betty Hulick in Grand Forks, ND. Soon after they moved to Seattle where Al worked at Boeing for a brief time until he left to do carpentry, which was his passion. They lived both in Cle Elum and Grandview and spent the last 3 years in Yakima. Al was a devoted husband to Betty and the best father ever to Teresa and Randy. He was a loving grandfather and great grandfather. Al loved to hunt and spend time fishing for walleyes in Minnesota. Al and Betty spent many years RV-ing and dancing at Polka fests with good friends. Al was an avid joke and storyteller with a sharp wit and great sense of humor. Al loved to do wood working and did many projects in Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, where Al and Betty were members since 1977.
Al was preceded in death by his son Randy, his 5 brothers, 3 sisters and parents.
He is survived by his wife Betty; daughter Teresa (Ross) Brennan; sister Leona Gardner; grandsons Jason, Shane, and Justin plus 4 great grandchildren Taylor, Memphis, Lilliana, and Shia.
A memorial service will be held at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 1106 Taylor Ave, Sunnyside, WA at 11 AM, Monday August 11, 2014. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima is in care of the arrangements. Online tributes for Al can be left at www.valleyhillsfh.com. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Al’s memory to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, which was such a big part of his life.
