"Yas Kwa'Kwa" Albert Anthony Doublerunner Sr, went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife. September 28th 2025. Big AL was a son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. A devoted man to his late wife his son's & grandchildren.
Al played endless basketball "back in (his) time!". Had many miles of traveling to many basketball tournaments. Winning many championships, where he earned numerous MVP & all star awards with the Satus Cowboys, Yakama Bucks & many "more teams to many to remember". He coached his own team with his son & athletes on the Yakama Reservation. He was a graduate c/o 78 at Toppenish High School where he played ball from 1975 to 1978.
Al always told his stories of how he surveyed & made the road ways in our mountains. He worked as Natural Resources Forest Engineer Technician. BIA Road Engineer. He was also a firefighter, crew boss and supe with the Yakama Nation Fire Management. After 35 years working for the Yakama Nation he retired, then moved onto being full time grandpa father and husband to his family. Watching his grandkids on their new adventures in school and athletetics just like "Bompa".
Albert Sr was survived by his son's Jeremiah Doublerunner, Albert Doublerunner Jr (Kristy) , Steven Padilla Kevin George and Ralp George. Grandchildren Albert Doublerunner III, Samuel Doublerunner, Stephanie Doublerunner, Julia George, Alex George, Kitana George, Aaraya Sunshine, Kai Sage, Willow Littleplume and Cameron Lee Doublerunner.
Albert is proceeded in death by his atwì wife Rebecca Doublerunner. Parents Anthony Doublerunner and Elizabeth Goudy. Brother Darrel Doublerunner and granddaughter Larea Doublerunner.
