Ada Brisbois

Mom was born 11-6-1925 in White Swan, WA. She lived in white Swan and at Celilo Falls and Spearfish as a child during the fishing season. She passed away on July 9, 2018 at home. Her parents were Mable (Wheeler) and Joe Palmer. She married Brady L Brisbois 6-8-1946 in Wapato. Her mother took her to St. Mary’s as a little girl and she was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Parish in White Swan. She was a member of St. Mary’s Alter Society, she participated in American Legion Post 191 auxiliary, kateri Tekakawitha guild, Speelyi-mi ARTS Club, White Swans Women’s Club, Yakima “Yak-Yak” Red Hat Society, Harman Center quilting groups & bowling on the Pin Dusters team. She was survived by her children: Dale (Leana, Ryan, Amanda), Elaine (Krista, Dustin, Mallory, (Jason, Alex),Mikal Ann, Stevie (Skyler, Gunner), Fred (Dixie, Rocky, (April), Willie (Gina Jo), Victoria Hart, Joe Don Hart), Brady Lee – Kiana, Sandi Palmer ( Calvin, Christopher, Stacy (David) Will Sanchey, brothers; Bill and Gary Lewis, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Special “sisters” and classmates include; Sophie Blodgett- deceased, Elaine Hull -Scrabble Buddy- deceased, Jean Kosik, Betty Ramsey, Carol Olson- deceased, Gloria Twombly- deceased, Evelyn Bartleman- deceased, Rilla Barttels- deceased. She was preceded in death by her husband Brady, parents; Mable and Joe Palmer, son; Carroll, grandsons; Billy Joe Hoptowit & Sonny Palmer sisters: Joann Brisbois, Melvina Lindahl and Maxine Lewis Brothers; Abraham (Brownie) Beebe, 2 infant brothers, Van Lewis, Frank Lewis, Marion Lewis, Larry Lewis and Henry Lewis. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 12, 2018, 4 pm -7 pm with Rosary starting at 6 pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Wapato, WA. Service will be at 10 am, Friday, July 13, 2018 at St, Mary’s Catholic Church in White Swan, WA with burial to follow at the Reservation Community Memorial Park in Wapato, WA. Ada was recognized and honored at the Yakama Nations Elders May 2018 as the oldest person in attendance.
