Abel Velasquez Jr. 19 of Wapato went to join his grandmother in heaven on May 6, 2013. He was born in Toppenish to Rosa Alcantar. Abel was raised in Sunnyside then later moved to Wapato in 2006, where he attended Wapato Pace High School. He was engaged to Amy Ibarra and employed at the Wolf Den in Wapato. When he wasn’t working he loved spending time with his daughter Lindsay and family. He will always be in our hearts and will be greatly missed and loved forever. His daughter and fiancé have the best memories of him that will never be forgotten. Abel is now our guardian angel watching over his daughter and fiancé. He was a hard working loving father, son, brother, uncle and fiancé, who everyone loved being around. Abel is survived by his daughter: Lindsay Velasquez, mother: Rosa Alcantar, Brother: Miguel Zaragoza, Sisters: Alma Perez and Blanca Ruiz. Fiance: Amy Ibarra and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, 3 nieces and 1 nephew. He is preceded in death by his grandmother; Teodora Sanchez. Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, May 13, 2013, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, with the Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at St Josephs Catholic Church in Sunnyside WA. followed by graveside services at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside. In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be left at time of services for his daughter Lindsay. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside is in care of all Arrangements.
