Marlene Lilly Blodgett

November 1, 1950 - May 10, 2022

Marlene (Tout) Blodgett, passed peacefully with her family by her side on May 10, 2022. Marlene was born in Yakima, Washington, and lived a full life on the Yakama reservation. She was devoted to the Wapato Longhouse where she was an active traditional food gatherer a title she held honorably. Marlene was an accomplished seamstress, first of need for traditional clothing then as a hobby. Marlene worked for Yakama Nation PD, Job Corps and most recently took pride in teaching the traditions of the Yakama people at the Toppenish School District. She loved the children she worked with and impacted so many lives with her knowledge. Marlene leaves behind her two blessings, Kato Smiskin; his children (Able, Nathan, Paytan, Shila, Lillie and Kato Colby) and Lance Smiskin (wife Felicia and son Steel). She took pride in her sons’ accomplishments and loved them with all her heart. Marlene is survived by her siblings, Fred (Tina) Blodgett, Jaci (Roy) Dillman all from Wapato and Steve (Amy) Blodgett of Granger. Numerous nieces and nephews and their loving families. Marlene also leaves behind many extended “Sisters” whom she acquired throughout her years. Marlene is proceeded in death by her parents, Fred and Bertha Blodgett, and bonus son Brandon Clements. Marlene’s life cycle has come full circle, she was blessed in so many ways. Her journey continues when she sees those who have gone before her. Atawishamash, Tout, you will be missed dearly. Funeral services as follows: Viewing/Dressing at 10am on Friday, May 13th at Valley Hills Funeral Home Wapato, Overnight services to follow at Wapato Longhouse. Sunrise Burial Saturday May 14th at 7am, St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, White Swan.
