Lorne House

August 19, 1935 — December 28, 2018

Lorne James House August 19, 1935 - December 28, 2018 Lorne was one of a kind, a true friend. Most people didn’t know he had an adventurous heart. Lorne was one of the first sky divers in the early 1950’s in the Snohomish area. He made many jumps in his early 20’s and 30’s. One of Lorne’s most daring adventures was in 1980 when he married Margaret Cunningham. They enjoyed traveling all over the world and staying in five star hotels. Their favorite trips were sailing to remote islands of the Abacos in a 35 foot sailboat, sleeping in a sandy bunk and backpacking the Pacific Crest Trails sleeping under the stars. Lorne was an avid reader and enjoyed the opera becoming an opera buff. Lorne worked as the CFO for Kwik Lok Corporation for 50 years, first for Floyd Paxton, then Jerre Paxton and also worked with Ted Paxton. Lorne had a great respect for the Paxton family. Lorne had a very special friendship with Marsha Roberton. She came to work for Kwik Lok and Lorne as a young girl. Marsha is part of our extended family. Lorne was a very quiet man except when he was fighting for the rights of the unborn child and working hard to get the right people elected into office that would uphold the constitution. At these times he would speak out loud and clear. Lorne served in the army for three years patrolling the Alaskan borders on snow shoes and skis. The memories that Lorne and Margaret made together will bring her peace and comfort in the coming years. Lorne is survived by his spouse Margaret Cunningham, son Les house, brothers Bud house (Shirley), Pat House (Gail), Sisters Diane Johnston, Peggy Kern. Seven stepchildren: Danny Cunningham (Carol),Karen Pruitt (Ronnie), Christine Jacobsen (Frank), Janet Dahl (Chris), David Cunningham (Vicki), Shannon Webster (Duane), Cathy Blore (Mark); 11 Grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Velma House, Brothers Dan and Willis House. Donations may be made to Life Choices, Yakima, WA. A Celebration fo Life will be held at a later date.
