David Humpherys Sr.
Although no longer with us, David's spirit fills the buildings. You'll find his collection of NASCAR vehicles in the foyer in Zillah and the arrangement office in Yakima. His kind and gentle way will forever be missed.

A college scholarship is given in David's memory to a Yakima Valley graduating student. The scholarship is based on leadership and volunteerism in the community. Past recipients are:

Julia Humpherys, Funeral Director/Owner
Julia is the business owner. She currently works as the part-time bookkeeper with time to be a grandma. She serves on the Birthright of Yakima Board of Directors, and is an active member of Zonta Internationsl, GFWC Computer Link and Beta Sigma Phi. Julia is a licensed funeral director as well as an insurance agent for prearrangements.

David Humpherys Jr. Funeral Director/General Manager
David Jr. is a third generation funeral director and the second of three sons. He graduated from Sunnyside Christian High School in 1999 and from Mt. Hood College with a degree in Mortuary Science in June 2001. He has since earned his Funeral Director's and Embalmer's Licenses from the State of Washington. He is licensed to sell insurance and has taken responsibility of prearrangement services for the funeral home. David is married to Amber, who helps out at the funeral home when she's not teaching school in Sunnyside.

James Gregory, Funeral Director
Jim joined the staff in 1996. He is licensed both as a funeral director and embalmer. His wife, Amy, twin daughters Andrea and Amanda, and youngest daughter, Angela, enjoy living in Zillah where they are active members of the Zillah Church of the Nazarene.

Jim Janssen
Jim Jannsen was raised in the funeral business in Minnesota working with his father. At the time, part of working for the funeral home also meant you had to drive ambulance. He later owned bakeries in Montana and worked in the funeral business there for 15 years. Joined the Valley Hills Family in 2007. Jim attends Full Gospel Church in Union Gap and enjoys being back in funeral service.

Jamie Morrison
Jamie was raised in the Lake Chelan Valley where he graduated from Manson High School in 2000. He received his bachelor's degree in Communication Studies at Eastern Washington University and began work in the finance industry, which lasted several years. He now works as a funeral director intern at the Yakima office. Jamie likes to spend his free time golfing, reading, and working around his house. He and his wife, Glenda, live in the West Valley with their cat, Charlie, and their two dogs, Bozley and Dexter.

Nikki Van Antwerp
Nikki works as the Office Manager at the Zillah Chapel. She attended Zillah schools, married, and returned to Zillah in 1996. She is active in the community and school district where she serves on the booster club and her husband, Chris, serves on the School Board. They have a Photography business and enjoy staying busy with their two college-age, and three younger children and all of their activities. The Van Antwerp family attends the Zillah Church of the Nazarene.

Teresa Smith
Teresa works in the Sunnyside Chapel as Funeral Director Intern. She was born and raised on the Oregon Coast. After visiting here 32 years ago she decided to stay. Teresa has three children and seven grandchildren who are the great joys in her life. She is new in the business and enjoys her job working with people.

Jerry Roybal
Jerry Roybal was born, raised and schooled in Toppenish. He moved to Zillah and has lived here 42 years with his wife Sharida and 3 sons, Jerry Jr., Brian and Josh.Jerry & Sharida have 5 grandchildren.

Shirley Martin
Shirley Martin was born in Seattle and raised in Sunnyside. She has two daughters, 4 granddaughters and 4 grandsons. Shirley worked full time at the Sunnyside chapel for 18 years. She is always available to lend a hand or help with a service. She now has a little more time for her other interests which are fishing, hunting, camping, crafts and gardening. Shirley, never lacking in compassion and a warm heart, is loved by many.

James Goldade
Jim Goldade is retired from full time work in the funeral business and works part time for Valley Hills. He lives in Grandview, in the Lower Yakima Valley, where he and his wife, Roberta, are very active in the Grandview Nazarene Church. Jim is a pleasure to work with. His sincerity and honesty are unsurpassed. He has 50+ years of experience in funeral service.
