Robert Kinzig
Bob our Dad was all about family, friends, love and laughter. He proudly served his country as a Navy man in WWII, and finished college at the UW. Then he fell in love with Patty Rutt and married in 1951. Together they built two successful businesses through hard work typical of their generation (Kinzigs Korner, Moxee and Richland Lumber). In his quiet way Dad led by example at work or play and made all our lives better. He always found more honor and reward in giving than receiving. So in the spirit of how he lived - simple and upbeat, we present Bob's Top 10:

10: Growing up in Yakima with his family - mom Josephine, dad Otto, brothers Bert (& Elsie), John (& Marietta), and sister Sis (& Bill).

9: Getting together with beloved in-laws Fred & Eleanor, Larry & Dorothy, Fred & Mable.

8: Sports enthusiast from HS basketball (called him Stork), to skiing (the BMOC), to golf (another Duffer), to watching the Mariners and Sonics (ho-hum), to playing games (always lucky).

7: Concerts with us (from Yanni to BeeGees to Phantom of Opera), and concerts from us (listening to our guitars and rock band).

6: Vacations and holidays with family, especially Lake Tahoe, Germany, and his Thanksgiving solo at Boondocks tavern.

5: Coming of age at Marquette HS, making life-long friendships and memories with Tiny, By, Mac, Bill, Tal, Pete, Manny, and families.

4: His family - Tom & Janelle, Jerry & Rhonda, grandchildren Jeff, Jessica, Melissa, Rachel, Jarrod, great grandchildren Jaiden, Lauren, and their mean dog Tim.

3: Married 55 years to Patty, he loved her more than life itself but often joked "marriage ain't no picnic."

2: Dancing the night away with Mom to old smoothies like his favorite Nat King Cole - they would be contenders in Dancing with the Stars.

AND (drumroll please)...

1: Gambling away our inheritance at casinos and horse tracks (you can tell we also have his humor).

We love our Dad (BoomPa or PapaBoo) for always being there and showing us how to be a good man, husband, father, and friend.
